Experience a very Special Dinner in the Mastio Fortress of Volterra, today high Security Jail!

Really?? In a Prison?? Yes, not a normal prison but the High Security Prison  of Volterra located inside the beautiful Medicea Fortress called “Mastio”! Once past the prison gates, we are welcomed into the courtyard with a cocktail drink! Dinner is set inside the disused chapel, transformed for the occasion in a nice dining room with candle-light, waiters / prisoners impeccable service, sommelier and wine by the Fisar of Volterra. The dinner menu  is prepared entirely by the prisoners, assistants of a renowned chef, different every time. An important moment for the prisoners, having the opportunity to learn experience in the kitchen from the chefs, and in the dinig rooms with the sommeliers: The background acquired working resulted 8 cases of a real occupancy in a local restaurants, according to Art. 21, which regulates the work outside the prison.

IMPORTANT!  You have to book in advance by providing the personal information of an identity document to be approved by the Minister of Justice.

€ 35.00 (the income will be devolved to charity Int. Associations)

In Florence, tram and bus tickets can be purchased by sms

From March 2012, you can get on buses or trams in Florence, with an electonic ticket, directly purchased on the mobilephone.  Thanks to the Mobile Ticketing service created by the four major mobile operators (TIM, Vodafone, Wind and 3 Italy), you can buy your ticket and deduct the bus ticket ammount directly from the phone bills, without subscription or additional operations.

You can buy and valid the e-ticket by simply sending an SMS with the text ATAF, to the short number 4880105 before boarding.

The ticket cost is 1.20 €, plus the SMS application cost of your mobile operator. In a few moments, you receive a message showing the electronic ticket details, the time of issue and period of validity. The validation of the ticket purchase is contextual, therefore no marking is required.  In case of control, it is enough to show the controller, the code received via SMS: …. IMPORTANT! You need to get on board having already received the message of the e-ticket purchase.
